EGO

EGO

The ego is something we all possess. It has, at times, prevented me from pursuing what I truly desired or should have been doing in life by instilling fear. This fear could hinder progress on the right path, such as applying for the job I really want, being with the right person, or buying the right house. The ego's creation of fear might thwart these aspirations.

It's essential not to be discouraged, though. I've come to recognise that the ego can also be a friend. Understanding the difference between my ego and my divine soul enables me to live with the ego in a way that works to my advantage. I've noticed that the ego is at its strongest when I'm about to do something perfect for me. It doesn't want me to embark on that perfect journey. However, learning to work with the ego allows me to fulfil what my divine soul is urging me to do.

Consider a situation where I want to apply for a dream job. I believe it's the perfect job for me, and I can secure the position if I apply. However, as I started filling out the application form, my ego chimed in with negative thoughts. It tells me I'm not good enough, lacking the qualifications, and that I don't really want the job. These thoughts are fear-based and come from the ego. As a human, I've allowed these negative thoughts to take root, thinking it's a waste of time. The ego makes me believe I'm not good enough, causing me to miss out on applying for a job I might have loved and excelled at had I followed my divine soul and ignored the ego.

There are ways to work with the ego. I take a moment to envision a world with no fear. In such a world, would I worry about not being good enough for the job? The answer is no. I am good enough to pursue my dreams, and I can do whatever my soul desires. The first step is to listen to my soul, follow my gut, and ignore the fear caused by the ego. By questioning my ego, I eliminate the fears. Once I know it's the right decision, I thank the ego for highlighting concerns, push it aside, and happily follow the path meant for me. Now the ego becomes a friend, helping me by pointing out fears and allowing me to discard them.

Every one of us has an ego, and it will always be present. It's crucial to learn how to work with the ego. Instead of stressing about it, I acknowledge its presence. When questioning the ego, I ignore the fear and listen for the answer from the soul within. This ensures fear doesn't hinder me from pursuing what my soul truly desires, as that is where the true answer lies for every decision I make in life.

In my early days, I struggled with the ego. However, I've learned to work with it over time, recognising what to look out for. Although I still experience fearful thoughts, when I reflect or meditate on them, I can identify them as ego-driven. I thank the ego for pointing them out and then push those thoughts aside, choosing to listen to the message from the divine soul.

Learning to listen to the ego, identifying fear from it, and being free to listen to the divine soul ensures that I never make a bad decision again. We all make decisions in life. Do we do it from the ego or soul? If it's fear-based, it's ego; if it feels true and right, then it is soul. Soul never lies. It is always true.

Love, Light and Blessings.
